Completely fair prices

At JB Computers we agree a price with you before the work is started wherever possible. So you know how much you will pay before you ask us to do the work.

We charge £50 per hour during the day and £55 per hour after 6pm & at weekends - that's it! There's no call out fee (because we're local) and no VAT.

If a job takes us longer than expected, you still pay what we agreed initially. If we think that it's not worth you spending out on your computer because it's near the end of its useful life, we will advise you.

On the very rare occasions where we can't solve our customers problems economically, we don't charge. No fix, no fee means just that: we want you to have complete peace of mind when you call us.

The Peace of Mind Plan

We all know that our cars need their oil changing regularly if they’re to keep running well & that’s one of the reasons we take them to be serviced. Yet,surprisingly, many people don’t have their computers maintained regularly. In response to our customer’s requests, we have introduced a regular maintenance program for PC’s & laptops.

The JB Computers “Peace of Mind Plan” is just like a car service for your PC/laptop. Twice a year we will:

1. Scan your PC for spyware

Spyware can slow down & kill a computer

2. Check that your internet security is working properly

It may have expired or been corrupted & therefore not be giving you proper protection

3. Check the amount of RAM the computer’s using

High RAM usage indicates possible problems

4. Defragment the hard disk if necessary

A badly fragmented hard drive will slow down a PC

5. Clean dust from the inside of the tower if necessary

A computer has lots of big fans to suck in air and dust settles on the components, causing them to heat up,

eventually leading to failure

6. Check which programs are loading at start-up

Too many programs loading at start-up slows down your computer
